Trace to the source & stay true to origin – 2018 New staff team activity Edit Date：2018/11/28

       To enhance new staffs’ understanding of history and culture of GDE, promote coordination among staff in various departments and improve cohesion of team, HR department and BIM centre organized a team activity, with theme “History & Development”, with support of company on 13th Nov,2018.Over 50 new staffs were arranged to Zini Tang Innovation Park in Shawan.

       Facing with winter sunshine in southern China, we firstly came to riverside relic of Zini Tang Park. Professor engineering, Chen Zhonghu, who designed sugar factory in the past,from BIM centre and an old staff from sugar factory told the staff the story of factory foundation.

       Zini Tang Innovation Park was reformed from original Zini sugar factory site, located in Shawan Zini village, Panyu District. Shawan waterway surrounded the whole island. Zini sugar factory was founded in 1953, with 65-year history and with 4000 works in its glorious period. Today, it was listed in Essential new discovery of the 3rd National archaeological survey. The park occupied 260,000 m2 land with business such as innovation technology, traditional handicraft, culture creativity, art education and life leisure. Old site of sugar factory occupied over 360,000 m2 land and relic valuable building and equipment were located at 80,000 m2 core area of production and office. In 1953, there were 11 buildings including one Su style office building and three accommodation buildings. Productive buildings from 1950s to 1990s were served within the factory area. Such integrity of Su type building was rare in Guangdong province.

       This factory, bearing the sugar industry development of China, was designed by GDE when GDE was just established in 1953.As half century passed, the factory became rusting. However, in this new age, vitality was summoned via creative reformation here. On the other hand, GDE, which experienced 65 years as well, was still full of vigor, no matter how time was changing. Just as general secretary Xi Jinping said, “After experiencing unlimited storm, the ocean was still there! With over 5000-year difficulties, China was still there and China will be here forever!” The great rejuvenation of Chinese nation is the core spirit to be inherited by several generations.
       During the visit of trace to the source, with effect of history spirit, new generation engineers will hold the craftsmanship of predecessors and their origin, and write their effort and youth into scroll of new era development.
