Brief News on Three-Dimension (3-D) Design Edit Date：2011/06/01
On the afternoon of May 30, the company held a meeting on 3-D design achievement as scheduled. The 3-D Design Team from Information Department gave a report on how the 3-D design was going on during the last year.
There were more than 80 members took part in the meeting, including the executive leaders, directors from each department, all the professional chief engineers, team leaders, etc.
New concept or goal of IT application, which is to integrate and intelligentize plant design, operation and management, to establish BIM, integrating application systems and the cooperative-work platform, has emerged as the times require and has been widely accepted in the engineering industry.
The executive leaders have fully realized the transforming advantages of 3-D design and decided to actively explore it. Early in 2006, the company brought in 3-D Piping Design Platform to design processing equipment and piping. With the development of information technology, 3-D utility software has been more and more plentiful, and 3-D design is not only confined to processing equipment and piping, but also confined to architecture, construction, water, heating and electricity, etc, which makes the whole project integrated and stereoscopic. The company founded a special team for 3-D research and development, and the team step by step combined with actual projects to complete a lot of large scale projects, such as brewery, cane sugar factory, garbage-burning plants and beverage factory. It is more direct, visual, elaborate and much easier to find out the internal potential mistakes. Thus, it improves accuracy and reduces a lot of problems. And it turns 2-D lines into animated 3-D real information model that is simulateable, optimizable and tuneable, which fully demonstrates designers’ design intent.
The report gave a detailed description on development of the company’s 3-D design, including team establishment, professional cooperation, software combining, hardware device and the completed project achievements. Advices on the following work and business exploration were put forward at the end of the report.
At the meeting, a lot of delicate and clear drawings, animation, vivid and expressive 3-D models impressed all the attendees.
At present, BIM concept has been formed in the company and widely applied in many projects. Therefore, 3-D resource of the company has been vastly expanded and simultaneously the company has accumulated preciouspractical experience, which lays a solid foundation of BIM concept for all the employees and effectively promotes corporate competitiveness to get more, better and larger project service.
